Shedding reptiles

I came across this snake skin while I was pruning my plectranthus - made me wake up to the fact that I blunder around my garden never thinking I might stumble across a snake. My partner always insists we keep the lower half of the stable doors of our house closed, to prevent snakes from entering the house. It took a bit of getting used to - coming from Johannesburg, you understand. A few weeks after I found this snake skin, I found another - from a puff adder - under the drain cover next to my back door. Right. Now we know. Keep the door closed.
